Athlete Career Development & Workshops

The Hire High School Athletes Organization bridges the gap for everyday high school athletes being left behind without concrete career foundations by helping translate their athletic skills into language employers understand.

The Resume Gap: Over 70% of high school athletes report wanting an internship or professional Summer job, yet fewer than 1 in 5 feel confident building a resume and networking with potential employers.

Our job is to help solve that problem.

We serve high school athletes from various demographics that want to create a safety net with our career readiness programs and support.

No. All costs to participate are covered by sponsors, donors and partners.

For student-athletes who don't plan on playing sports in college, Hire High School Athletes (HHSA) is designed exactly with them in mind. The organization operates on the belief that the skills developed on the court or field—like discipline, teamwork, communication, and time management—are highly valuable corporate assets.

Here is how HHSA helps translate those athletic skills into a professional career path:

 * **The "SoCal HS Athletes Resume Game Plan" Masterclass:** This rotating workshop teaches student-athletes how to take their athletic achievements and translate them into a professional resume that corporate hiring managers understand. For example, it frames being a team captain or managing a heavy practice schedule as project management, leadership, and elite time allocation.

 * **Direct Access to Summer Jobs and Internships:** HHSA partners with employers and corporate sponsors specifically looking to hire high school athletes. They value the work ethic of athletes and offer entry-level roles, internships, and summer jobs that build professional experience early.

 * **The "Careers in the NBA" Outreach & "Career in Sports" Panels:** Through partnerships with teams like the LA Clippers and Atlanta Hawks, HHSA exposes students to the massive business side of sports. They show students how to turn a passion for sports into a corporate career in sports marketing, data analytics, public relations, finance, arena operations, or sports law—no college playing experience required.

 * **Civic Leadership & Volunteer Tracks:** Programs like the 20-Hour Win-Win Volunteer track and local disaster relief projects allow students to build up their community service hours, expand their network, and gain real-world operational experience to pad their professional profiles.

Ultimately, HHSA focuses on long-term career development rather than athletic recruitment, preparing student-athletes to win in the professional world after high school.

Of course not. Sign up today to get started.

The **"SoCal HS Athletes Resume Game Plan" Masterclass** is a hyper-focused, virtual career workshop designed specifically for Southern California high school athletes. Instead of focusing on college athletic recruitment or highlight reels, this masterclass teaches you how to build a powerful, professional resume that catches the eye of corporate employers, internship coordinators, and hiring managers.

The masterclass rotates to a different Southern California county each week, making it highly accessible to student-athletes across the region.

Here is what the Resume Game Plan covers:

 * **Translating Sports to Business:** You will learn how to turn your everyday athletic experience into corporate terminology. For example, we teach you how to reframe being a team captain into *leadership and project management*, or balancing a 20-hour weekly practice schedule alongside school as *elite time management and prioritization*.

 * **Building a Clean, Modern Resume:** You will get a step-by-step breakdown of how a professional resume should look, what sections to include (even if you don't have prior work experience), and how to highlight your academic achievements and community service.

 * **The Next Phase Sign-Ups:** Attending the masterclass unlocks immediate access to the next phase of our program—allowing you to sign up for upcoming educational panels, summer jobs, and corporate internship placements exclusively available through our network.

It is entirely focused on giving you a professional "game plan" so you can secure a great job or internship and build a career, whether or not you plan to play sports in college.
