About HHSA

Our Story: From NIL Education to Career Classrooms

The modern student-athlete is built with a level of grit, discipline, and competitive drive that cannot be taught in a standard classroom. Yet, millions of high school players graduate every year into a massive transitional gap—possessing elite teamwork and leadership skills, but lacking the professional networks, corporate literacy, and technical resumes required to land high-quality summer jobs and professional careers.

Hire High School Athletes (HHSA) was founded in 2024 by Coach Ekene (widely known across digital platforms as @hsnilcoach). Coach Ekene initially launched this journey by serving families directly with crucial Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) compliance and baseline positioning education as @hsnildealsguy.

As the landscape of collegiate sports shifted, Coach Ekene realized that while high-end deals capture headlines, thousands of everyday high school athletes were being left behind without concrete career foundations. HHSA was born to bridge that gap permanently—evolving from traditional athletic recruitment into a hyper-focused, non-profit career development powerhouse.

The Shocking Reality: Why We Do the Work

Our dedicated internal HHSA Research Team tracks the changing intersections of high school athletics, youth employment, and modern workforce demands. The data reveals a systemic problem that traditional athletic programs are simply not equipped to solve:

The 98% Reality: Less than 2% of high school athletes will ever play NCAA Division I sports, leaving the vast majority completely reliant on their professional career skills post-graduation.

The Resume Gap: Over 70% of high school students report wanting an internship or professional summer job, yet fewer than 1 in 5 feel confident building a resume that translates their athletic skills into language corporate employers understand.

The Network Deficit: High school athletes in under-resourced communities face a 30-40% lower likelihood of securing skill-based summer employment compared to peers with immediate access to established professional corporate networks.

What We Do: The HHSA Evolution

We do not build sports agents—we build corporate leaders, industry innovators, and community champions. HHSA functions as a lean, modern workforce readiness accelerator through two major operational pillars:

1. The Careers in the NBA Community Outreach Program

An elite, interactive program hosting educational career panels, executive masterclasses, and fundraising events. We break down the massive professional ecosystem behind sports entertainment—introducing youth to careers in sports data analytics, corporate partnerships, digital content engineering, and sports law.

2. The SoCal HS Athletes Resume Game Plan

Our signature regional masterclass series. We rotate throughout Southern California counties to host high-impact, virtual, and in-person career workshops. Our curriculum provides students with complete, high-quality resumes, interview literacy training, and direct pipelines to local employers.
